Forthcoming Gigs

Gigs to follow.... ....in 2008

Latest News:
Ten Feet Tall have come off the road - but only temporarily. We are rehearsing a whole load of new songs and are hoping to go back into the studio to record our second CD.
Songs currently being rehearsed are "Waterloo Sunset" by The Kinks and "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who.

Date Venue Notes
15th September 2007 Three Horses, Fell Lane, Keighley Our gigs are getting better as the year moves along - a brilliant all round gig. A nice, busy pub, the crowd liked us and the landlord wants us back next year.
We played the perfect set list and included a brand new song - "Jumpin' Jack Flash" by the Rolling Stones.
Great stuff - see you in 2008!

21st July 2007 Golcar Liberal Club, Huddersfield Easily the best gig of the year so far. We played great, the venue was packed and we went down well. This was a charity do in aid of the Kirkwood Hospice - over £3,000 was raised on the night through auctions etc. A fantastic effort by all concerned.
13th July 2007 Headingley Stadium (Supporters Club), Leeds Quite a good gig this, nice venue to play, proper stage, good lighting etc. No new songs, but we brought back a couple of oldies that we haven't played for a while, "Maggie May" (not gigged since July '06) and "Summertime Blues" (first time for five gigs).
2nd June 2007 Keighley Rugby Club, Low Utley, Keighley A nice setting for this private wedding do, in the hills near Steeton & Silsden. Nothing special to report about the gig itself. The buffet was nice though!
14th April 2007 Three Horseshoes, Otley At the end of the night, the band were all pretty much agreed this was one of our best ever gigs. There was a good crowd in, good playing area - all in all a good venue and the band were on top form - great stuff.
4th March 2007 New Inn, Guiseley The New Inn never disappoints. The pub was again busy, even on a Sunday - a good crowd. You could say the songs that made their debut last week actually made them tonight, as there were actually people there to hear them!
23rd February 2007 The Fleece, Elland The least said about this gig the better. The pub was dead. There was no one there apart from a few people who knew the band, and at one point we were playing to an empty room. We were also paid £50 short of the agreed fee. It's safe to say we won't be booking any more here. A strange start to our 2007 gigs!
On the plus side, we played four news songs that we have learnt since the last gig: "There's a Ghost In My House" (R. Dean Taylor), "Show Me The Way" (Peter Frampton), "Motor Bikin'" (Chris Spedding), "Summer of 69" (Bryan Adams).
16th December 2006 Allan Fold Pub, King Cross, Halifax This was something of a landmark gig for us - after appearing in the previous 42 gigs, and usually a set opener - the very first time we haven't gigged "Somethin' Else"!
A good gig in a nice little venue, shame the pub wasn't a bit busier, but the X-Factor final was on TV.
3rd December 2006 Bellhouse Road WMC, Sheffield We weren't too sure about this gig beforehand with it being a WMC as we are more of a pub band. But this is not your normal WMC with duos singing along to tape machines. They have a wide variety of acts on including heavy rock on a Friday. As it turned out we went down quite well and it was an enjoyable gig.
24th November 2006 New Inn, Guiseley Well, what a great gig. After an autumn break for holidays (and operations!), we came back raring to go and played a great gig. Two more new songs tonight, "Route 66" and "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". Another great audience again too. Quality stuff.
15th July 2006 The Fleece, Elland This is a good venue for bands, geared up for live acts with a proper stage and lighting. Enjoyable gig. We should be back there in a few months.
7th July 2006 New Inn, Guiseley This surely has to go down as one of our best gigs. The band were very tight tonight - other bands will know what we mean. We had a great audience, and would you believe we even got asked to autograph one of our posters!
Also played a new song, "Born To Be Wild" originally by Steppenwolf, and very good it was too.
24th June 2006 Tapps, Dewsbury Our sixth gig at Tapps and probably our best one yet. The pub was ram jam full and everyone enjoyed us - we even sold a few CDs!
8th June 2006 Ford Inn, Holmfirth A wedding gig in a lovely pub on the tops above Holmfirth. Room not really suited to bands! We played really well tonight, but where were the audience? Mainly outside in the blazing sunshine.
27th May 2006 Boot & Shoe, Ackworth Our second gig here and not a bad one....in the end! Second set was as good as we've ever played!
Gave debuts to three new songs - two by the Rolling Stones - "The Last Time" & "Brown Sugar", and also another one of our own, "Miss Rock 'n' Roll".
We also did "In The City" by The Jam for only the second time, last time being way back on 14.10.04
18th March 2006 Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford Private wedding. Gave debuts to two new songs, one of our own "Dancing Girl" (written by Martyn & Steve) which went down really well, and Free's "Little Bit Of Love". We really enjoyed this one.
3rd December 2005 Harewood & Upton Club, Upton, Pontefract Nice venue. Looks like "Hey Rock And Roll" which was requested for the gig on 17th Sept is now going to be a permanent fixture in the set as we have done it at every gig since!
29th October 2005 Hoyle Ing WMC, Huddersfield Update 18.1.06 - turns out this was our last gig at Hoyle Ing as the club is closing down. We played there 6 times and they were the best gigs. The band really enjoyed them all.
8th October 2005 Northcliffe Golf Club, Shipley, Bradford Barmaid quote: "I've been here 2 years and you're the best band I've seen"
17th September 2005 Rising Sun PH, Bamford, Hope Valley, Derbyshire. Private wedding. Gave "Baby Don't Cry" (one of our own songs) its debut, along with "Hey Rock And Roll" (Showaddywaddy). The latter at special request of the bride and groom, which we learned especially for the occasion.
20th August 2005 Boot & Shoe PH, Ackworth, Pontefract Quality gig - hope we play there again.
10th June 2005 New Vic PH, Bolton Woods, Bradford Gave "Cigarettes & Alcohol" (Oasis) its debut.
2nd April 2005 Hoyle Ing WMC, Huddersfield Our 5th time at Hoyle Ing. Our gigs here just get better. Noel turned comedian for the night and had the audience in stitches. I'll have a few pints of what he's having next time. We're back there again in October.
18th December 2004 Clayhouse, Elland An intimate gig in a very old building for a birthday - the last and most enjoyable of our December "mini-tour".
16th December 2004 Town & Country Club, Bradford Support to fellow covers band 'The Circles' for this corporate Christmas do.
11th December 2004 Hoyle Ing WMC, Huddersfield
10th December 2004 Golden Lion, Ripponden Gave debuts to "Ten Feet Tall" (written by Martyn), "Pulling Mussels from The Shell" (Squeeze), "Summertime Blues/C'mon Everybody" (Eddie Cochran). Also the first gig with our new PA - what an improvement in the overall sound.
Note to other bands - pub has a music licence 'til midnight. We didn't know this and finished the set at 11.00pm - landlady wasn't pleased - but we're not mind readers - why didn't she tell us?
23rd October 2004 Painthorpe Country Club, Wakefield Private wedding.
(Update April 2007 - we hear this venue has now been demolished).
14th October 2004 City Limits Cafe Bar, Leeds After a 4 month gig break, got plenty of rehearsing done, and gave debuts to two instrumentals: "The Rise & Fall Of Flingel Bunt" (Shadows), and "Wipeout" (Safaris). Also, "In The City" (The Jam) & "Molly's Chambers" (Kings Of Leon). Not the most acoustically pleasing room due to all the hard tiled surfaces.
12th June 2004 New Vic PH, Bolton Woods, Bradford
24th April 2004 Hoyle Ing WMC, Huddersfield
13th March 2004 Tapps PH, Dewsbury Gave "Maggie May" (Rod Stewart) & "Sweet Home Alabama (Lynyrd Skynyrd) their live debuts.
14th February 2004 Woodlands Suite, Otley Chevin Hotel, Leeds Private wedding. Gave "I Can't Explain" by The Who its debut.
15th January 2004 The Wardrobe, Leeds One of Ten Feet Tall's best gigs! The in-house PA helped our sound tremendously.
15th November 2003 Hoyle Ing WMC, Huddersfield
7th November 2003 Golden Lion, Ripponden
27th September 2003 Tapps PH, Dewsbury
28th June 2003 Private wedding, Woodlesford, Leeds We played this gig outdoors, in the back garden of a semi-detached house! The weather was spot on - no rain this time, unlike our last outdoor venture!
14th June 2003 Birstall & Trades WMC Hoss had a real bad sore throat for this one - the gig went ahead but we really should have postponed. (Think Rod Stewart with bronchitis).
10th May 2003 Hoyle Ing WMC, Huddersfield A small, friendly venue, and an enjoyable gig!
19th April 2003 Tapps PH, Dewsbury
10th April 2003 Killingbeck Police Club After a long break, we did this gig well rehearsed and debuted five new songs, "Fire" (Jimi Hendrix), "Twisting By The Pool" (Dire Straits), "20th Century Boy" (T-Rex), "All Day & All Of The Night" (Kinks) and "Start Me Up" (Rolling Stones).
29th November 2002 The Royal, Pudsey, Leeds Possibly the loudest gig we have done. Paul's ears were ringing for days afterwards.
1st November 2002 Tapps PH, Dewsbury
26th October 2002 Birstall & Trades WMC, Birstall Aside a long delay between sets for the bingo, this wasn't a bad gig!
25th August 2002 Cheers Bar, Outwood, Wakefield
16th August 2002 Bradford Central Police Station, The Tyrls, Bradford We got invited back! Awkward in terms of setting up - the bar is on the top floor.
20th June 2002 Tapps PH, Dewsbury
3rd June 2002 Clifton, Brighouse Queen's Jubilee gig. Played outdoors on the back of a lorry. It rained.
6th April 2002 Bradford Central Police Station, The Tyrls, Bradford Our debut (Private party).
